Help wanted for someone who can engineer a way to keep someone from sinking the second they set foot in a body of water.




And please don't say "swimming lessons" - that's not physically possible without a lot of flotation assistance.

I'm glad it's been working well for you. I've been working on improving it, so you may receive a little gift later once I'm done.

But I'll let you know once I've managed a prototype.

Oh really? I might have to share it, if it works this well. I have someone who could use a good firearm.

Is that so? Admittedly I'd like to limit its use in weaponry, however I could make an exception and help customize your friend's so long as you don't make it too public knowledge.

[Offering it to individuals to help defend themselves is one thing, but to have this get too widespread is another matter since he's not really into the "arms dealing" so to speak. It's the balance he's striking given that his works will naturally bleed into that territory.]

Fair enough - It doesn't have to be as heavy duty as what I use. Even a pistol might be helpful. She's more than capable with just about anything you put in her hand, but that's more familiar territory for both of us.

[He won't argue if the other doesn't want to make a habit of it. Honestly, he could try his hand at the rest of their gear - and part of him really wants a chance to. But the heat sink problem is... well. It's a problem.]

I'm still learning about these firearms as they didn't exist in my world, and yours are even more advanced than what they provide here. But I think I can work out something if she has particular specifications.

What about retrieving her original weapon from the rifts?

Aye, it is. Of course there's no guarantee, but so far they've been able to retrieve some of my old belongings.

No harm in trying at least.

Good to hear. My gear was with me when I got pulled, so I didn't think much about it.

Luck of the draw does seem to be the case for most. And even if they managed to bring it in, it may need adjustments like yours did.

Smaller. Pistol, really. One handed weapon.

Very similar. Same basic concept, just on a smaller scale.
