Hello.
I am in need of legal advice regarding a private matter:
Is a marriage contract legally binding if one or more parties involved were under the influence of spiritual possession while it was officiated?
Thank you for your assistance.

It's me, Ranma.
[ She doesn't add any more, because she assumes that he'll put two and two together when he remembers that she's a princess and that princesses can't just marry whoever they want. ]

Still not getting what the deal is. I mean, I guess princesses are supposed to be regal and responsible and all so marrying someone who reflects that makes sense. But still, you're a freaking sovereign over an entire kingdom.
[He assumes, anyway. What's royalty without a kingdom to flaunt their status over?]
You make all the rules and laws, right? Can't you just decree "I will marry whoever my heart wants, and if anyone have any objections with that, they can just suck it up and deal with it"?

But that's the only part he got correct. ]
There are no written laws restricting who I am allowed to wed, but there is the expectation that I will choose someone well suited to the job. I would not promote a person who cannot wield a sword to be Captain of the Guard; thus, I cannot wed a person who is incapable of ruling the kingdom at my side.

He makes a face reading her response. He kinda figured that was a problem...]
Oh...
Well... Do they have to run the kingdom with you? Like, yeah, that's how some royalties work from what I know. But you shouldn't be prevented from marrying whoever you love just 'cuz some jerks expect them to be good enough for an entire kingdom.
[Miiiiight be a tad project-y here given his own complicated history with marriage and meeting expectations, kind of.]

If that is too difficult a thing to imagine, then consider your own parents. How would you feel if one parent did all of the work while the other parent simply loafed around all the time?
The idea that love can overcome any hardship is a nice sentiment, but not a realistic one.
