I guess I will kick off the new year with a hearty hello! That is, according to this calendar it seems like. Back home this would be the Guardian Moon.

Anyway, that's not really what this is about. While it's a little early to think about gardening, I wouldn't mind getting a head start. My home doesn't really do cold months, you see. Cold nights, sure, but snow and ice? Not really. So I really thought about taking up a hobby of mine, you know?

I went ahead and threw together a list of the plants I am looking to cultivate. Looking for anyone who might be able to help a guy out. I've scribbled some rough drawings together, but ignore my messy handwriting. Embarrassing, I know.

Different worlds, different flora? Of course. That doesn't mean that there's not an equivalent or that what's here isn't in the same plant family.

Otherwise I'm going to be starting from scratch. Not that I mind.

Yeah, I've noticed a few that look similar to things we've got at home. I'll give you a tour and a few clippings to get you started, as long as you don't mind a bunch of weird animals butting in. Usually they don't bite.

Also I got a neat fertilizer, but you might wanna be careful with it. It'll kick your ass.

[ He huffed with a laugh, then switched gears with a short, sharp breath in through his nose as he thought about the time and place with a thoughtful sound. ]

I appreciate the thought, but I'll turn down this fertilizer. If I don't know it, I don't trust it to not change the properties of the plants around.

[ Just like with Kavehs "magic infused" plants. Though they would do that at the monastery. ]

I do know it's got a--well, don't use it on vegetables. But fair enough.

[ An idle shrug at the thought, tucking it away for now. ]

How's Eltrut sound? There's a bistro there with good fruit cocktails--nothing that tastes like licorice or mowed grass.

Considering what I am using the plants for, if it isn't good to use on vegetables then I can't say I want to use it on any of my plants.

[ Now Claude mulls the location over in his head. Bistro... Means probably back to less flavorful dishes than what he'd like. But hey! ]

Eltrut is a safe, neutral location. Makes sense. I'm still learning my way around so probably meeting up at the docks is the way to go here.

[ He rumbled with a chuckle. There were very few reasons to have such exacting lists of plants, but he wasn't going to call that short list out over the network. ]

I might be able to whip up a list of places you'll wanna hit once we're done if you want some local samples, and they'll do a better job of telling you what you're getting than I can.

It's also easy to catch a ride going that way for cheap from most other ports. Try not to get lost without me, but you got my number if you do.

[ We're gonna pretend I didn't have Reno say they'll meet at Atnam and then swap it to Eltrut because neither of us read the previous posts. The important part is Reno will be waiting near the head of the docks.

I wouldn't wanna handle food with any of those plant oils you're after on my hands. I got a nasty migraine from morning glories once and learned my lesson.

I still say that the dishes here are. Hmm. Not as diverse as I would like. You can't even get any decent spices around here. But you don't need to worry. I'm pretty good at not getting lost. Even if I did, it's not like I couldn't just stay put, you know?
