[Sup buckaroos, this strange looking blue creature pops into focus after fiddling with his shellphone (a pun that he absolutely appreciates, good job whoever invented these). Despite the fact that he's stuck here on this weirdo wet planet with all this damn water, he seems to be pretty cheerful!]

There we go, I think... I'm just gonna assume this is recording-- Aaaand, hi everybody! My name's Sonic, I'm new here, and I'm pretty eager to dig into whatever's going on here and help out however I can! If you need something done fast, I'm your guy. Anyway, nice to meet everyone! And I do mean everyone. I get around real quick and I have no chill, you can't avoid me forever! That'ssss about all I've got for now-- Oh! So, asking for a friend, does anyone happen to have any spare like, pool noodles or y'know, floaty things. That float in water? I-- that is, my real friend that I have that I'm asking for kinda swims like a boulder. And this planet is like, really wet? Sooooo.

Huh. What, does it juts like, make you forget how to swim, or-- how does that even work?

I'm a reindeer. I didn't really swim before anyway. I mean, I'd go to water to bathe or drink. But not really swim. It's just meant that sailing, being a pirate, I just have to be careful. Or hope one of the others in the crew that can swim will help.

Reindeer where I'm from don't really have problems swimming, as far as I know. But yeah, I can definitely see how not being able to swim as a pirate would be a problem.

I was fine with swimming before. But I can't ever since I ate the Devil Fruit. It happens to anyone who has eaten one. But I've managed okay so far. I have to. If I want to travel and learn more about medicine. And to help as many people as I can.

[That is Chopper's goal, after all. To learn more, enough that he can treat anyone he comes across.]

Heck yeah, dude! I can always jive with someone who likes to help people! So, doctor? or still in med school, something like that?

I haven't been to school, no. But I had two really great doctors teach me what they knew.

[He still misses them both. But he is still glad he went with Luffy and the others. Chopper isn't sure how school would work, if any would accept someone like him to one even if he had wanted to. Being a reindeer and all.]

Fair enough! Medical licenses are over rated anyway.

[That was not a thing back home? At least, Chopper didn't have one. He just does what he can, treating people with what he knows and has available at the time. He just wants to help, and has the knowledge and skill to do so, in medical situations.

I should probably ask and find out? I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble. Or get in trouble myself for doing something without checking first. I don't know if things might be different here than back home.

You too! Or, I guess. This is as good as it gets. Meeting someone. Aside from being in person, with these things. They're pretty handy! Like what we have back home but smaller. And not just the Marines having them.

These are a little bulkier than what I'm used to. They get the job done well enough, though!

Sort of round. They look like snails, anyway. I've only seen the Marines use them. We don't have one.

Only the Marines have them. As far as I am aware. At least, back home.

[So it is definitely not as common. At least in Chopper's experience. He's still figuring how to use this. But he is getting there, figuring the basics easily enough for the most part. Even if it might be slightly more awkward for him with the hooves.]

Just the wet cops, huh. Sounds pretty inconvenient for the rest of the world, then. Sounds pretty sus.

There are other ways to communicate. Smoke signals, letters, that sort of thing. But that isn't as quick as these. Or the snail phones back home. I think those just had people's voice. Not like writing, uh, 'texting' or showing someone like these, though.

[Not the worst or most inaccurate assessment. Marines are just against pirates. Not that that has stopped Chopper helping them when they needed treatment for injuries after getting caught in a storm.]

Smoke signals? Bro, is your planet still using dial up, too!? Sounds like the dark ages!

I mean, signals are usually best, easier, when traveling or out on a ship at sea. But it wasn't that bad? I did say some people had phones. Just not quite like this.
