Given current events, I've had a few projects I've been pondering. I don't suppose anyone would be interested in making handmade fireworks? With precautions taken, of course, these are just for fun at festivals.
While I'm on the subject, how many of you are familiar with cameras, or other ways to take pictures, in your own worlds? Would you mind telling me much about them.
Ah, and one more thing. I've been considering getting some people together for a research project, of a sort. Or I suppose, something like a study group and a book club. I'd like to discuss it in person, though, so please feel free to drop by the Cafe.

He's always appreciated the other's company, but the whole thing with the brands has him appreciating Kaveh even more. Had he been on the Corsairs when this all happened he would have easily jumped over without thinking twice, if he hadn't already done so earlier. The idea of having to be separated from Kaveh due to some inane grouping that they're not even involved in would have never sat right with him from the get go.]

Still, that's why he's doing this in the first place, tipping his head up into his husband's face with a faint smile as he stretches his legs out more comfortably.]
Anything interesting?

Mmn, not at the moment. [He responds after finally pulling his face back, though with his other hand free it means he can reach over and tuck back the strands of Kaveh's hair that'd fallen over his face.] Most of it has been nothing more than biased recounts of general events.

[Kaveh smiles a little wryly.] That's what I aim to ask people to be looking for. Biased the accounts might be, they're the accounts we have...and I have a suspicion a solution to this might be in parallel to other long-term solutions.

If none of the Paladin-biased texts prove effective I'll look into the ones I have from Nogard. [Because what better way to see the shortcomings of one side by looking through another's viewpoint—in this case, the Corsairs.]

[The implication being that they can already get and share what they can find in the conservatory.]

Any extra information will be useful, regardless.
[And hey they're on Eltrut so neutrality is the name of the game. Or something like that, anyway.]
no subject
That's my hope, anyway. What people do with the information is up to them--I know what we're going to do with it, anyway.
[Neutrality, or plausible deniability, at least.]
no subject
Hmm. And what, exactly, are we going to do with it?
[I mean he already knows
even if I don'tso the question is kind of moot but he wants to hear it anyway. So it can be on record between them.]no subject
[Kaveh makes a big stretch and then tucks himself closer into Alhaitham's side. It's sunny out, today, and he's been working hard...]
The more of us search for the answers to our current problem, the more we may stumble closer to an answer to the rifts. I can't help but feel both are deeply rooted into the history of this world. Why should any of that be restricted information?
no subject
But first he'll turn to lie on his side instead so that he now drapes his arm over Kaveh instead, the other now tucked in the space between them.]
Most of their history isn't restricted, but I see your point. [There are segments of it which are, since they're more sensitive to the armadas themselves—though the Paladins are certainly more uppity about it compared to the Corsairs.]

[Kaveh is still sharp-tongued, his opinion on that particular idea crystal clear, even as he settles himself good and cozy against his husband. They're not that busy...just a little nap won't hurt...]

I'll make a trip to the Conservatory in the next few days. [He murmurs as one hand delves into his husband's hair, fingers combing through the strands.] Mehrak can come with me.
[It should be pretty obvious what he plans to do with that request.]
no subject
[It's less suspicious if they don't both turn up to the Conservatory at once, given how rarely Kaveh goes up to Elah, but that doesn't make Kaveh any less worried and anxious about it. At least Mehrak will be with him.]

[He fully understands where Kaveh's worry comes from here, considering recent happenings, so he doesn't brush it aside like he might have done in other times. If anything, he does his best to be reassuring, by leaning in and pressing a kiss to the top of Kaveh's head, burying his nose into his hair afterwards as his arm slips down to wrap around his waist instead, holding him almost as close as he can do so.
Between the kidnapping and now the stuff with the brands, its only further fueled Alhaitham's desire to be close to his husband, and to relish every moment that he's allowed to touch and hold him close. Though he has never taken it for granted, everything has only made him want to hold on even tighter than before. Just as he promised, he'll never let Kaveh go—not now, and not ever.]
