Good day, everyone.
[An easily polite opening, Turo carrying the phone in hand, just getting a shot of his head and shoulder—]
My apologies for being on low contact for a while, even thought some of you could still easily find me at Cosmo Conservatory animal sanctuary. There was a... much needed break taken, one could say. Not that it was completely filled with rest.
[—some could likely recognize Dojima sitting on the floor within view, Mariposa walking up beside the man and setting one of the wiggly, squeaky-noise making puppies right into the man's hands. More than one in view as while Dojima was playing with them, well.
In a short amount of time the detective was simply on his back and at the 'mercy' of Xolos puppies just starting to get their paws under them. Iron Valiant carrying a few clean blankets simply stepping over/around it all easily.
Turo focusing the camera on himself, a very sleepy Xolos puppy cradled against his chest -a few white spots on otherwise black fuzz- with a loose lavender 'ribbon' around its neck. Could possibly count 8 puppies in total.]
Mariposa made sure of that. Once they are a little older, and house trained, these little ones going off to a less crowded home may do them well; and do not worry if you do consider it, this breed does do well around other animals.
Do feel free to stop by and visit in person, or simply ask over this.
[Despite that Things Keep Happening™ there, at least this had been a brighter spot.]

[There was a little pat of the and to the puppy he held still-]
As the pup grows into a loyal and fierce protector, the home would be filled with the care of both it and the person who took it in.
no subject
That sounds... nice.
[That's what a home is supposed to be like, isn't it? In theory?]
no subject
It does, and I know what it is like to have one at your side with how long Mariposa has been with me. They seem to choose their person, and they give comfort- even at the hardest of times Mariposa has tried to give comfort.
They are very smart canines.
no subject
[Although he's not thinking about the xolos, when he says that part. And he's not sure if wanting comfort is a selfish reason to consider the whole idea.
A little pause.]
I was planning to head out soon, anyway. Alright if I come hold one before I make my other rounds?
[He might just really want to hold a puppy.]
no subject
[Pokémon could be so incredibly loyal, and do anything for their companion(s).]
Perfectly alright, I will be here for a while after all.
no subject
He gives Turo and the several dogs a cheerful little wave.]
Well you've got your work cut out for you, huh Mariposa?
no subject
Mariposa barked, the sound soft to not disturb pups as they tumbled a little with one another;still getting used to legs here and there- and clearly it had been in greeting with how her tail wagged.]
That she does, but at least she has some help.
[Turo more amused than anything with it all.]

[Faulkner reaches to give her a small scratch, before holding out a hand to let some of the puppies sniff at it. He figures that's probably better than just trying to pick them up.]
Hey, there...
no subject
[Mariposa leaned into the scratch before letting her head down to yawn with a small stretch. The warmth still present and calming, content to watch.
There of course were those little puppy squeaks, eyes barely open and- well. Warm little breaths from puppies as a few did wiggle closer.]
They are full of energy.
no subject
[He was assuming it was a good sign. After a moment he picked up one of the pups that wiggled closer. He seemed a little uncertain how to hold it, but he was being careful at least.]
no subject
[A step up of mobility from wiggling. Really, they were so very warm and the short fur on them felt like velvet. Some were black all over like their mother, a few had white portions here and there, and a couple were more white in color.
Even as Faulkner picked one up, it wiggled; but not in a way that meant it wanted down. Puppy sniffing.]
no subject
[He's really never been around dogs enough to guess.
The one he picked up happened to be a mix of colours. He chuckled a little as it sniffed at him, before eventually resting it against his chest and cradling it there with a hand. So warm!]
no subject
[It had been a few weeks already given it was near the end of- the month before last? Around there that Mariposa had them, while Turo and Dojima were remaining low after his breaking out of prison; had heard about the false island and everything-
More reason the puppies had been a very welcome distraction.
The puppy seemed rather content to just curl closer, even with little wiggles and sniffing where it had been settled. A soft, soothing little presence with that wamrth.]
no subject
He wasn't sure he knew Turo well enough that he should really pry about how the man had been doing with everything—instead he's generally just been hanging around the conservatory doing his best to help with things wherever he could.
And for a few moments he seemed equally content to just hold the puppy. He hadn't exactly had much touch for... a while before getting here, let alone soft animals.]
How long do they need to stay here for?
no subject
Turo was sitting beside the bed, just to observe the pups given he had the free time.]
At least eight weeks, and it has been- around five, at most? That is how long it takes for one to be weened, at least. It is also why their eyes are open, why I would not be surprised if they started walking better any day now as well.
no subject
Well, it'll be nice having them around here for now.
no subject
[Some had other animals that likely wouldn't welcome another, no matter how well these would do around others.]
no subject
[But it reminded him of something else he was tempted to ask about.]
Is it true that... no one's wanted to adopt Angel?
[And Turo might or might not have already picked up on that being what Faulkner had nicknamed the Cerberus pup. It was probably a more confusing question if he hadn't.]
no subject
Ah yes-]
It is true, and rather unfortunate that the pup had not been adopted in the first place. Those with cats -like Dapplewhisker- were told they could not given the nature of the Cerberus pups, and that they would grow wild once old enough. A reason Sherlock has his own living here while still caring for Basker. [His head tipped a little towards Mariposa.]
The Xolos pack help keep an eye on them, even though preparations have been made so that Angel could be adopted if someone wanted.
no subject
[A little pause. He sort of absently pets the puppy he's still holding.]
But he'll—he'll definitely go wild in the long run?
no subject
[All the more reason that Cosmo had taken the poor thing in; no matter the future it should have been allowed to get there happily. Still should, despite what it had gotten to through sorrow.]
Indeed; though chances are high he will remain here if the Xolos have their way when it is time. They are able to help calm creatures, and is likely why they took to the rescued guard dogs and took them in. [A hand running along the back of a pup that had taken a few wiggly-wobbly steps near his thigh.] Should still get to be happy, after all; no matter what the pup has done, it was rescued and turned to what you have met.
no subject
What all did he do..? Sounded like he was upset after the others got homes? Or somethin' like that?
[But Faulkner didn't get all the details, nor was he actually in the best state to absorb them when this actually came up in conversation.]
no subject
[Mostly wild animals, but also that of farms.]
Those who went after him were able to calm the pup, and brought him here where he would be looked after and safe- and as I said, arrangements to make adopting him easier, if anyone had the want.
no subject
[And all he says is 'oh,' but it's probably clear he feels some kind of way about that. It's not like he can judge; the line between loneliness and homicidal tendencies is both fine and easily crossed, in his experience.]
What kind of arrangements? I mean—what would adopting him entail if he's still going to go wild again...?
no subject
Simple paperwork to show that he does have someone who claims him, while still being able to keep him here if wanted. Even if there is a future of going wild, there having been someone who would still love and care for his wellbeing- well, that can matter a lot. Can it not?
