[open] voice , a little magic question

Type: Voice

Subject: About Magic

Hello, everyone. My name is Naminé and I have a very small question for anyone willing to give an answer.

[ At first her voice starts out pretty small, but as she speaks more she seems more certain of what she wants to ask. ]

I've had some wonderful people offer to help me learn more about magic here. So I'd really like to narrow down what kind to focus on at first. Would anyone be willing to share their experience?

Either with magic they've learned here or what you may know back home! What gave you found to be the most helpful? The thing that's best helped you to protect and help your friends?

Any answer, long or small, is equally appreciated. Thank you so much.

This happened last time. Here is the remaining part that did not go through the shellphone.

"WATER could also be useful, especially when you have so much around us. It wouldn't be so impossible to use the oceans or even create some rain, though harnessing an element is not the same as controlling the weather. Healing is also predominant with water. Think of cleansing impurities and washing away wounds. Water users tend to find it easier after those who can use light. But also consider water bubbles that could shield you or creating large waves to push away your foes. ICE may also be a consideration, and there you would have something more solid to work. In my world the two elements are separate, but here there seems to be more overlap to allow the use of both.

As for light and dark as elements, I suppose it seems natural for me since they exist in my world. I will say this world seems a lot more flexible when it comes to their magic and how the elements are used and mixed together, and you could be creative in how you use it as well."

I eventually chose to learn light magic.

I have a copy written down in my casebook which I use to transcribe the information. I suppose I could copy down it on separate sheets of paper, but that would require meeting in person. With the vastness of this world, that is not easily managed or timely. This is quicker.

[ Not impossible but for someone who gets seasick, the trade off is not worth the trouble. (He's thinking of a physical file: a folder with papers.) ]

It was something a friend spoke of that helped me decide to pursue light magic. She chose something contrary to her nature, shall we say, and used it as a way to regain something she had lost. I decided to do something similar.

[ Also, Sherlock cannot agree that water sounds appealing, but that is also the trauma speaking. ]

Is that not what I am doing?

[ It sounds like that's exactly what he's doing. He has saved a copy (in his casebook) and brings it up to copy to other people here. Sherlock is not aware this is a computer (person) and computer (machine) issue. ]

Regardless, I find myself among the darkest of criminals and circumstances through my line of work.

[ Along with his own dark secrets and fears. It is all too easy for Sherlock to view himself as an inhabitant of the darkness. ]

To choose light is to oppose that in hopes of finding my way out.

I am a detective, and not all the mysteries I try to solve are peaceful ones.

[ The majority of them seem to involve a murder and Sherlock trying to make sure the victim (the real victim) got justice. ]

Not at all. I solve any mystery that piques my interest or where someone is in need of aid and can turn to no other. It could be anything from a disappearance to murder to a situation that is not quite as it seems.

My light magic has helped in my investigations as I can recreate the scene by sketching it out in light.

I've done it before mentally when visualizing a crime scene, but my magic allows others to see what I am envisioning. I can show you how it works should we cross paths again.

If you draw, have you made your way to Seal & Cant on Eltrut? They have been very helpful whenever I need to procure a samples for my investigations.

I did not have such a skill before arriving in this world. Perhaps you can learn to do the same if that is what you want. However, please do not consider me a teacher in this matter. I am still very much a student.

[ He knows he can make his light projections move, but he doesn't know what made that possible. There is still so much he doesn't understand about how the magic has manifested in him. ]

I spent many months in this world before deciding to pursue a magic. If nothing else, you have time to consider your options.

I know there is a suggested limit of two elements, and we must re-ink the tattoo each month. What I do not know is if you must get the same element each time.

While it would delay any mastery of an element, it might allow you to try them out or at least change if you decide your previous element does not serve your needs.

Then let that be your starting point. Best of luck to you.
