My crew back home never had parrots. What we did have were Sylphjays, and those were smart enough to know not poop on their handlers.

Sounds cute. Can't say the same for the dumb parrots we have around Elah, though.

Parrots just take effort to train well. Put in that effort to raise it and you'll have a good companion. Don't and you get a bird that shits on your shoulder.

I don't know. That might explain the parrots here, then. Have you ever seen or heard them on Elah? They know every swear word in the book.

So do most sailors. Good chance they picked up their extended vocabulary by listening to some more loud-mouthed seadogs.

[Granted, Eizen hasn't actually run into these parrots himself, so this is purely a guess. It'd make sense though: sailors have parrots, parrot picks up some particularly foul language from one, parrot makes more parrots, parrot passes down language.]

Probably picked up on their attitudes on top of that.

It's not all that different from here. Gratuitous swearing, lewd commentary and particular phrases like 'scurvy beard-splitting bastard', 'by Amenoch's barnacled balls' and such.

Aye, straight out of the handbook. The biggest difference here has just been some of the vernacular.
