Blood magic sounds... unpleasant. What exactly is it?
no subject
Blood magic is magic that uses blood as the source, rather than The Fade. Mages are known to sacrifice unwilling victims to do so and it is magic that corrupts everything it is used on. Even its user.
[Fenris lets a moment pass as he contemplates how to continue. He doesn’t want to threaten anybody, buuuuuuutttt…]
If someone here has found a way to use it or similar magic, they should be dealt with. Blood mages creating abominations are going to be killing people to do it.

... Why would anyone use that?
[ Just do normal magic??? ]

Power, and control. Desperation to try and turn a fight in your favor. But it costs your own humanity, and the lives of the people you have to kill to gain more power.

I cannot think of what kind of desperation would drive a person to create that equine.

The desperate ones would most likely not create that thing. But the magisters? Or mages with resources and power?
[A pause for emphasis.]
They will do anything it takes to get what they want and, will cut down anyone who gets in their from getting it first. Some may even simply do it because they are curious.

Hythlodaeus actually feels fairly disturbed by this. Curiosity is fine and well, but maybe not at that price?.. And definitely not using unwilling people as sacrifice. ]
Is there no oversight to prevent such things from happening?

[See, this is the part of the talk therapy where he mainly sounds less cool and okay.]
Many places outside Tevinter use Circles of Magi to keep mages away from non mages and prevent harm. Tevinter should operate similarly, but they will never do so until mages no longer have control.
