So [There's a bit of a lazy drawl. If anyone recognizes this voice and knows the owner, they can detect a hint of agitation and a growl] is it a common thing to be sent back to one's world and then come back to this one?

[Because guess who that happened to. Not that Leona recalled anything concerning Escordvi back home, but he's feeling the whiplash from going to one annoying incident to another.]

[ Yeah well it's not like Claude's really enjoyed the last couple of days. Leona up and disappearing out of nowhere kind of put him on edge. He had been going back and forth between their home and Azul's place to check up on the mer just to have something to do. Something to take the edge off.

Hearing the door open though, Khalid is immediately up and bolting from the bedroom. ]

Leona!?

[...Somehow, he wasn't expecting Khalid to be bolting out of the bedroom. His mind is reeling from being in a dream world and coming to believe most of everything that happened was a dream.

So, he looks startled when the older man comes out, ears standing up straight.]

Khalid?

[ It's not like Leona to be startled. Even Khalid can see that he looks surprised to see him. That's probably why he stops short. Initially he had been about to throw himself bodily at the other.

But maybe... He shouldn't? ]

Yes? Who else would it be?

[Give him a moment. It won't take long.]

I'm really back here then?

[Here, he means. He remembers agreeing with the herbivore's group to transition to the next dream, but he highly doubts they meant here.]

[ "Back here?" Well that's certainly unsettling. Leona hadn't just disappeared somewhere around this world then? That's kind of what it is sounding like... ]

You were gone for a couple of days. I thought you just went out for a little bit.

If it was only for a little bit, felt a lot longer than that then.

[He does give himself a bit of a lookover. Hands flexing.

Maybe you should sit down. You look pretty disoriented.

[ And confused. It's a little unsettling for Khalid, but he's not going to let THAT be known. ]

I woke up a few days ago and you were gone, so.

[Huh, he looks that roughed up?

Leona almost scoffs, but he's not going to argue. Maybe actually sitting might help. He moves towards the couch and sinks down on it, running his fingers through his hair. Thinking. Trying to make sense of the timeline.]

What's the last thing that happened before I "disappeared"?

[ Well first thing's first. He's going to get something for Leona to drink. It might help? Which means that he's starting to set water to boil for tea. ]

There was the whole thing with Azul. Since I couldn't find you, I've been checking in on him.

[Ah, that's right. His ear twitches upon listening to Khalid.]

Not much has happened then.

[He pauses.]

Pretty sure I went back to my world for those days I was gone.

That's what I was starting to wonder.

[ Which means there's a good chance that Leona had forgotten about this place completely. Hmm. Khalid really doesn't like that. For various reasons. ]

It's the only thing that makes sense considering what happened.

[Ugh, he's getting a headache from this. Leona really didn't appreciate having to deal with Azul's Overblot to being caught in Malleus' Overblot. Even if he didn't remember dealing with Azul, there's been....something that's been bugging him back home. Something from here.]

[ He's bringing over the teapot now, pouring the water into a cup. Letting something calming steep. ]

Seems like you experienced a lot.

I went from one problem to another.

[He slowly forces himself to relax.]

[ Because this seems to be a constant thing for Leona. Or where Leona is from, anyway. One problem after another.

For his part, he's sitting down. Close, but also giving Leona space if that's what's needed. ]

[And considering Khalid has known Malleus briefly, he can imagine how that could have gone.

Leona does seem to relax more with Khalid beside him, instinctively reacting to his husband.]

[ Oh... He's not having to needle Leona into talking about things? Well that's certainly a pleasant surprise!

He reaches out, mostly to try to stroke one of Leona's ears. ]

Isn't he like, really powerful?

[He might've had a few epiphanies while at home. Fighting his own Overblot self certainly shed some light on his own behavior.]

He's one of the Great Mages back home, so yeah. If not stopped, he's going to trap my entire world in his magic.

[Again, he knew the lizard was annoying. Why no one ever agreed is beyond him.]

So you were in the middle of another nasty situation. Should Overblotting be happening like this? Something doesn't feel right about it.

[ Stroke stroke ears. ]

It shouldn't. There's been far too many in the span of one school year.

[Even Leona can admit to that. It's been troubling him for a while now.]

Can't say I know for sure. The lizard snapped and Overblotted during a party thrown by one of his retainers.

[Ah, right. He remembers now. This conversation he had with Malleus when the lizard first arrived concerning Lilia. Tch. He knew something was going to happen once Malleus informed him of what was going on with the old man.]

Seemed like he has us all trapped in a dream.

[ Yeah. That's what he had been thinking as well. That it seems like Overblotting isn't something that happens too often.

Though to think that Mal's magic could encompass the entire world. Terrifying. The idea of plunging everyone into a dream is nothing short of chilling. ]

No wonder you looked shocked. You thought you were still dreaming.

After everything so far that's happened back home, it isn't surprising.

[He finally reaches for that cup of tea.]

I didn't remember you either while I was there.

[deepstar]

I thought that might be the case.

[ Not that he likes it. Actually, Claude hates it. The idea of being forgotten doesn't sit well with him. But that's not Leona's fault. ]

So what was your dream?

[sunsetking]

[Leona doesn't answer for a moment.

Instead, he just takes a sip of that tea as he seems to mull over what he should say.]

[ He is going to give Leona the space that he needs to figure that out. There won't be any pushing or needling from Khalid.

Though he won't let Leona get away with saying nothing. ]

I was king back in my home country.

[Leona eventually says. Though, evidently, there's more to it. Hm, is it an instinctual desire not to disappoint Khalid? He's not sure, but thinking about his own dream gives him some mixed feelings even if he was partially aware that he was dreaming.]

[ King, huh? Look, Khalid knows that Leona suffers a bit from insecurity. Always thinking that he's second best to his brother no matter how hard he tries. Of course he thinks that it's nonsense himself and, well. He's seen some improvements in Leona as of late.

Hearing this, though... ]

[ Yet Leona doesn't look happy about it at all. ]

What's strange is the sense of time. I was here for a year, I'd have thought it was a year gone back home. And I was home two weeks, only to find it was another year passed here.

I can't speak for how common it is, but it did happen to me.

[not exactly a fun thing to realize when you come back. he thought he was gone for 2 weeks but turns out he was gone for months.]
