I've been here a few weeks, and this isn't the first time I've found myself in the position of being an outsider. So, I just have to ask. What's your experience with the locals and their treatment of us rift-farers?

You can look around at the different cities on the leviathans and see how we've all kind of changed things. There's a blend of peoples for sure.

The deeper into the ocean you go, though? Little less nice.

I'll need to see a lot more of this world before I think I can recognize the difference. Between what originated here or not.

I've heard about the deep sea communities. Though something tells me those aren't the only dangers you're referring to.

I wouldn't feel too bad if you can't. Some things have been here for so long that they might as well have originated here, even according to the people that live here.

And you're right. Those shark pirates and the Rat King haven't been all that friendly.

I see. If this world has lived with this situation for that long, it makes sense that the people here have grown used to it.

The rat king sounds like something out of a ballet, though... [ Because it is. He's just not making assumptions for anyone else's sake. ]
