I've been here a few weeks, and this isn't the first time I've found myself in the position of being an outsider. So, I just have to ask. What's your experience with the locals and their treatment of us rift-farers?

Pretty neutral. I don't have issues with the locals, usually. Have you? Anyone I should know about to avoid?

nothing yet. at this point i've heard about hostilities from the deep sea villages and a cult of snails conducting human sacrifices
so maybe avoid those. along with the usual marauders, brigands and thieves

[there's a pause here. She's been here long enough to know some aren't exactly nice, but some are fine.]

well, not great. Most on the main islands are fine... just watch your pockets on Nogard, unless you can scare people off with a good glare.

[ There's so many islands, all with theses unfamiliar names. The only one he can keep consistent track of Eltrut. ]

Or just where people who don't pay attention get fleeced, either or. I don't go there too much, myself.

between this and the cults and the deep sea and body snatching fish, i'm starting to wonder if there's anywhere pleasant

Eltrut is pretty pleasant, and I can't speak for Elah since I don't think I've visited enough, but there's some nice places! You just gotta get through the weird stuff to find them. I dunno, the island my crew is on is pretty nice, but it's just us there, so it's quiet... most of the time.

[ Eltrut is pretty hard to miss considering they all end up there on arrival. Sounds like it's the safest option too. ]

some peace and quiet sounds pretty welcome after the things i've experienced in the last month

Plus Ultra is my crew. And while I may say it's quiet, there are some in the crew that are loud, but they're friendly. [Beat. Beat is loud. That's fine, he's cute.]

But otherwise it's a quiet island, no shortage of places to hang out to just watch the waves and think up something like... I dunno, world domination or something.
