Couple things I've been wondering about, lately. Figured now that the brand crap has settled down a bit, it's as good a time as any to ask.
- Any word on where the Paladin Leviathan went? Lost track of that discussion with all the under water adventures.
- Has anyone heard anything about any Riftfarers ever getting promoted in their respective Armadas? We know they have superiors, a council each - Paladins especially have a military type structure, from what I've seen. But has anyone ever been an officer? Or whatever passes for it in the Corsairs?
[It just seems weird, okay.]
- And ah, less seriously
[He almost starts typing "Looking for experience with getting a house" but deletes it. That's too forward, probably.]
Pet fish. Suggestions welcome. The hardier the species the better.
[NAILED IT.]

Hoarding animals, Garrus?
no subject
What dog?
[HINT. HINT.]
I don't have a dog.
no subject
Right. Of course. Not that I would recommend keeping a person.
[Teasing!]
Goldfish is usually a good starter, just bear in mind they need more water than you'd expect.
no subject
Good joke. I'm laughing on the inside.
... Are goldfish, you know, hardy? Don't die easily?
no subject
[gottem]
They're quite resilient. Most often people simply underestimate how large of a space they need to thrive, but they don't die easily. I can write you some basic instructions for care if you would like.

I just think it's odd. With how many of us are here, with how long some of us have been here... no one's done it yet.
no subject
At any rate, you certainly make a fair point. I'm sure it's not simply out of a lack of interest in the idea, either. Are you suggesting that perhaps riftfarers specifically are getting discriminated against in this way?
no subject
Not really. Military more like.
Maybe. Maybe not - just seems like there would be some by now. For how long people have been coming in.
no subject
Do I detect a "former" in there?
It does seem strange. If not outright discrimination, then maybe there's some concern about riftfarers' tendency to abruptly disappear.

I don't know much about fishkeeping.
no subject
[It's fine, about the fish. Neither does he.]

But ...yeah.

[As if it were that easy. But it makes sense to him!]

I don't do well with water. And I don't know anything about fish - including how to catch them.
no subject
only tried catching fish a while back
worst part of its the waiting
no subject
I'm thinking the colorful kinds would be best. Catch any of those?

Would you really expect Riftfarers to be trusted in higher positions? I've been a part of a sort of...organization on another world before. Our higher ups certainly didn't jump to trust us with more knowledge and authority in it.
[ granted they were sort of evil... ]
no subject
Why not? There's plenty of us who've been here long enough to prove themselves capable in one capacity or another. Especially with how they keep asking us to help with some new crisis.
no subject
Or worry that we'll always be most loyal to our homeworlds?
no subject
Mm. That might make more sense. Still though... after all we do here. We're trying to help find the Leviathan they scared off - that seems like it should count for something.
no subject
Sometimes you can do everything right, with the right motivation, and still not really be trusted. Were you going to try to rise in the ranks then?
I'm not entirely certain if 'scared' is the right word from what I felt.
