have you ever had a random thought come to your head when you least expect it and you just don’t know what the answer to it would be? but you just can’t stop thinking about it? and you’ve gotta say it to somebody?

well good news is you can probably use "there was a crazy lady trying to decapitate us" to get out of too much trouble.

Flowers, an expensive magitech device she can take apart, and wine. In that exact order. If she asks anything else of you, your only response is "yes, my love", understand?

Okay but see flowers dont really convey anything in my eyes. She likes them and shes told me flowers have meaning but anyone can get someone flowers. I think I could do a lot better. Just seems kinda lazy.

A magitech device might be interesting. She loves to study them but I think that finding something she could go out and actively field test would suit her more. I love to tinker. Shed rather take the thing and explore with it. Test it out and put it through its paces and really find out how it works that way.

But wine? We shared a drink for my birthday. She can definitely drink socially but wouldnt that read as just me grasping at straws? I know her way better than that. With the weather cooling down, I think shed prefer something like a hard cider. Something really sweet and tart with a kick to warm the bones and couple that with a special dessert.

first: the flowers are about what she likes, not whether or not you think they have meaning. These are gifts for her, after all; it's not lazy if you're taking her own likes into consideration.

Two; if I haven't guessed wrong, Miss Zelda is of a scientific mind and if she doesn't know how a device works she'll want to study the device itself first too. We're not in dissimilar fields of study, trust me; get her something she can figure out.

Three: Seventh Heaven has a good cider right now.

Okay but shes been given gifts and whatnot all her life. Shes a princess for crying out loud. Gestures of kindness and love are kind of the standard. If Im going to get her something I want it to be something she not only loves but shows that I know her heart beyond just the surface.

Secondly, she absolutely is. Shes also active as hell. Something she can figure out is great but shell probably get more joy out of something she can take somewhere to actively figure out too.

Besides, I think you've misunderstood. These are what you are starting with, and then allow her desires to lead from there, because you missed a very important anniversary for very understandable reasons.

also, there were two ciders. a pumpkin and apple. the pumpkin is pretty unique, there was...cinnamon, I think? Or a neighbor to it. Sweet, but with a bit of a contrasting kick. The apple cider was rich, and there was some honey in it.

Honestly couldn't go wrong with either of them. Maybe both.

I've heard of those, they're not common in Sumeru since there's really only the one tavern but...if they don't exist here maybe that should be organized. Though there's not much of autumn left...

It could probably be done seasonally, though.

Nutmegs a spice. Got a rich scent and taste and a lot of people liken it to cinnamon. Spicy and sweet. Great aromatic. [Hey Kaveh did you know Darin cooks. He might be an idiot but he is prime husband material.]

I got a buddy that owns a small hole in the wall pub on Eltrut. Wonder if I can pull some strings with some of his pals and the business connections Ive made to organize an impromptu cider and snack crawl across Eltrut. Zelda loves trying all sorts of unique foods and drinks so having a special tour of this worlds seasonal delicacies would not only be fun but shed probably gush over getting to learn the history of the people here.

Propose it as a trial run. Id fund the whole thing and if it does well, the businesses around here can take up the mantle and drum up more business.

I don't think nutmeg exists in Teyvat but it sounds a little like an ajilenakh nut? They're more sweet than spicy, though.

It could work...if it's expanded to unique foods and not just places that serve alcohol, I have dishes at the Surasthana Cafe recreated from Sumeru. I'm not sure if Azul has food from his world at the Monstro Lounge, but I can ask him. If nothing else, I'm sure he'd be willing to help organize a business opportunity like this.

Expanding it across Eltrut and including riftfarers and their businesses would be great honestly. Not only does it foster more connections between businesses who might see riftfarer run establishments as unneeded competition but it would strength bonds between natives and riftfarers. Basically trade of culture and ideas rather than direct wares.

If it works we could expand it to Elah and Nogard. Maybe some of the other civilizations on other leviathans. Seasonal festivals of food and drink to foster better relations.

Nothing is better than bonding over good food. Like a family.

I found a couple nuts that are close enough I could make halvamazd, but I think I might see about getting some seeds through the rift, nothing has quite the right texture. If you drop by I'd be more than happy to share.

I don't think there's a need to emphasize a separation from the people here...the common people suffer under the missteps of their leadership just the same as we do. That said, food is an excellent ground for fostering community--riftfarer or beastfolk, everyone's gotta eat.

...But given there's a certain someone is staring a hole in the back of my head at the mere thought of taking on any more projects, I might just have to pass my contacts over to you and serve you coffee and kulfi when you drop by.

Maybe theres no need but Id rather promote cohabitation before anything else. Coming from a place where the caste system has made life difficult I think it would at least be worth keeping in mind. Just because it might not matter to us doesnt mean it wont matter to someone down the line.
