[Attached to the message is an image of many, many boxes of Pocky. There's so much. And it's all untouched.]

Before anyone asks "what kind is there", there's all kinds. No, I'm not selling it, just come take it away. Yes, I know there's a lot. No, I'm not going to eat it. It's not opened, either. I just don't want it.

[Someone finally went back to his hole in the wall apartment after... a long time, and decided to finally clean house.]

[Beat waits until he gets the pin on where he needs to go before replying]

[Then he's going out to do more Bounty Work.]

[Beat shows up at the pin not too long after with a small number of moogles in tow. He's not sure if moogles eat pocky but he promised them a couple of boxes of their own if they helped him get these back onto Hero's Rest.

Taking his shellphone out of his pocket, he shoots Garrus another message to announce his arrival.]

[Since he's expecting someone, he doesn't have the door locks completely engaged - so he steps out fairly quickly. Granted, Garrus still has to duck through his own doorway (they don't make them for seven foot tall aliens). But he's out fast enough.]

You weren't kidding about bringing an entourage.

[What the heck are those things.]

Wasn't sure how much a' the pocky you wanted me to have. Hadta make sure.

[Seemed like you got a lot of boxes, Garrus.

Thankfully, Beat's not taken aback by how he looks and his size, having seen him in the past. But the moogles? Some of them stare for a little more than what might be uncomfortable out of awe. One of them nudge the other to stop that.]

'Sides, I promised them a couple if they helped out.

[Can moogles even have pocky? We're sure going to find out.]

Frankly, I don't care how much you take.

[There was exactly one pack he kept, and that was already sorted from the others.]

[Right, well, the little guys were weird before. But the staring is grating. He gives one of them a Look, flaring his mandible off his jaw enough to show teeth.]

Go ahead. It's all just inside the door there.

[He'd left it open, and the pile can definitely be seen.]

[The moogles that happened to stare jolt at the look Garrus gives them, immediately averting their eyes, scampering into the apartment to collect the pocky.

Beat follows after them and can't help but whistle upon seeing the pile. While he had seen it in the picture, it was still an impressive sight in person. He pauses at the threshold, looking back at Garrus.]

Hey, why's it you got so many if you's jus' gonna get rid a' 'em?

[Good. Message delivered. He relaxes a bit, leaning against the side of the apartment.]

[Not looking at the pile.]

Someone left it. Keeping it around is just taking up space.

[It takes a little bit for him to dawn on him.]

Oh shit. Sorry man, that sucks. [Pause.] Guessin' it's a friend a' yours?

[For being turian, Garrus has a shit poker face. His shoulders tense, sharply, and his mandible presses flat against his jawline.]

I don't want to talk about it.

Just - take the food.

[Oof, that bad? Even Beat can notice the shift in expression, even if he can't read it as well.]

Aight, man...

[The moogles carry out two boxes and Beat follows behind them with a third. While the small creatures walk on ahead, Beat stops in front of Garrus yet again.]

Hey, you even been skateboardin' 'fore?

[A geniune question, even if it seemingly came out of nowhere.]

[He was hoping just to let this conversation end there. When the guy says "all right", that's that. Isn't it?]

[Nope, he's being asked a question about - ]

What? What are you talking about?

[There's probably not skateboards on the Citadel.]

[Right... Thankfully he's had this spiel ready for the number of times he's had to explain it.]

It's a board with wheels. You get on it and move 'round an' do tricks if you wanna.

Whenever I feel like crap, I get on my board and just skate 'round. Kinda helps take my mind offa things, you know?

Oh. You mean a hoverboard.

[Oh, sure they have that on the Citadel.]

[He huffs. It's probably meant to be a laugh, but doesn't come out that way.]

I'm sure it does. Glad you have that kind of outlet.

[He can see where this is going. Getting out of his own head won't be as easy as riding around on a wheeled board. It's a decent attempt, even if he doesn't think he can accept.]

[Beat scowls a little, taking the laugh as a scoff. But he persists, adjusting the box in his arms to keep it from slipping.]

It ain't gotta be that, yo. Could be anythin' you find chill or whatever.

[So much for subtlety. He's never really been good at that, but still. He just wants to help somehow.]

But if you ever up for that, I can lend ya a board to use. We even got a skatepark back at our island. An' there ain't no one 'round to bother ya if ya wanna hang alone.

I'm working. That's good enough.

[He's not good at this. Not at all. Depending on who he was talking to, he has better luck, but not right now. Right now he just wants the food gone and no one to ask too many questions.]

[It's no one's fault, they don't know.]

I can pass the message on to the crew. Some of them would probably enjoy it.

[An attempt to appreciate the offer, even if it's not really his kind of thing.]
