TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Sure, but there could be a story involved. What were the precise words? Who was involved? How did it end? Who won? Did they get thrown out? Why were they both there in the first place?

Questions that beg for answers.

Most Akademiya scholars end up spending a lot of their evenings drinking. Alcoholism is actually a pretty common vice among researchers.

I'm sure I can't recall every idiot who published a poorly researched and fallacious paper, but I can tell you I didn't lose.

I couldn't say, but I'm sure someone must have won mora on one of them. Close enough.

More or less. Known some researchers, too. Some were apt to engage in the same things and I'd say the same about their jobs. Others didn't. They had the good jobs.

Oh so these get betting pools, too? Sounds entertaining if you like that sort of thing.

The government was overthrown 10 months ago back home I'm not sure there are good jobs right now. There's a reason I work in the field and not research.

People will make bar bets on anything.

Strangest bet you've ever heard of?

Wildest...I think I once saw a betting pool on whether a young bride was going to flee, including what nation she'd run to.

The matra shut that one down pretty quickly. It was for the best.
