TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

[ Well, at least whoever this is doesn't seem too heartbroken or guilty over being involved in the death of his mentor. He wonders just how young this person might be. ]

Perhaps not as obvious as you fear it to be. I still had to decide which was more unlikely before reasoning out the rest.

[It's been about seven years or so. Which means he would have been about eight at the time. He's old for a reindeer, but still the youngest of his crew back home. And at fifteen, probably the youngest of his crew here as well.]

The truth does have a way of coming out one way or another. Besides, this is a game, a way to learn more about people. There is no prize for finding or hiding the lie.

i guess so. i just was hoping i was playing properly if people were able to figure it out so easily.

So if you do not have the highest bounty, who does in your crew?

i'm pretty sure it's probably our captain luffy. if it isn't him, then probably zoro.

As I suspected, the captain has the highest bounty. Is Zoro the second in command? That would make sense, though that also needn't be the case.

zoro is, yeah! he used to be a bounty hunter before luffy dragged him along. he's really strong and uses three sword style!

[Chopper will never not exclaim over his friends and gush about how cool they are!! Even if sometimes they might frustrate him at times. He loves them really!]

Out of curiosity, what exactly are the bounties for?

[ Sure, he doesn't know the person on the other end, but someone who has done heinous acts doesn't really approach the subject this way. ]

because we're pirates. so the marines have to come after us and send bounty hunters.

[The Straw Hats are definitely more chill, though, as far as pirates go. Mostly because with the likes of Luffy as captain, they tend to just go around making friends as they explore and search for the One Piece. On their journey to the Grand Line.]

Is it similar to how Corsairs and Paladins sometimes interact with one another?

well. the marines supposed to uphold the law. and punish criminals. and technically, all pirates are criminals. so they set bounties for us. it isn't like i haven't helped them sometimes. when some were hurt in a storm, i treated them and performed surgery to help them.

Is that so? It say much about your character to treat an enemy set out to punish you.

about me? i couldn't just ignore them like that! and their doctor wasn't very confident, so. someone had to help them.

There are people who would let them die. There are doctors who have less than altruistic goals and morals.

You are not among them if you treated them and helped their doctor.

but i can't just leave someone who needs help. it was a storm, so it wasn't like there was really anything they could do to avoid it. some of them were bad enough that they needed surgery. i just did what i had to.

I imagine you also refused any sort of payment for services rendered.

of course not. i mean. i didn't want them to figure out it was me, but also it wasn't like they were in a condition to.

And thus why your actions speak much to your character.

you think so? i just didn't want to cause any trouble if they realized it was me. and most of them were still resting when we left. so i just left them with their doctor.
