TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

I don't know what a Princess is.

What is the significance of taming a golden horse? Are they of extreme temperament?

'Princess' is the title given to all daughters of direct royal lineage. In my homeland, royalty are the political heads of state in our government and the authority to lead is passed down matrilineally through the royal family.

It is not a matter of temperament, but rarity. A golden horse is only born once every century, according to legend.

A Princess sounds much alike to how princes were described to me. I wonder how places came to decide upon such a structure for governance.

'Tis interesting, the tale of the horse. I thought at first it might be a more temperamental species of equine, such as the hippe being more aggressive than the monoceros. But it is a rare trait from within a singular species? Mayhap 'tis a trait that has been largely lost reasserting itself on occasion over the course of generations?

That would be because 'Princess' is the feminine equivalent of 'Prince.' I cannot speak to other nations, but if you would like, I am happy to explain why Hyrule is a monarchy.

Like a recessive gene, do you mean? That is an interesting theory. The legend describes the occurrence as rather more magical in nature, but perhaps there is an underlying genetic explanation for the golden horse's rarity.

Aye. A rare recessive gene. 'Tis sometimes observed in the creations under observation in Elpis. A number of generations are observed and records of those observations kept, and the slight differences between multiple endgendered concepts of a singular species might result in such a different color or an unexpected characteristic manifesting several generations later. Given the nature of our magicks, small deviations from the initial concept design are bound to occur, which fortunately mimics natural genetic diversity well... for the most part.

Occasionally someone can become too distracted in the process of creation, and end up with something wholly unexpected.

How did Hyrule come to decide its form of governance? I'm still very new here, so I've not learned much about other people, or where they are from.
