TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

It's okay. I'm not new to this game but I am fairly bad at lying too.

i find half-truths or omitting details easier. not that it has worked out always.

It just seems unfair to those who want to figure out which one is the lie.

indeed. i believed games were to be fun but i have possibly angered someone.

it seems he took issue with my title though i fail to understand how.

Why would he be upset at your title?

they appear to have an expectation regarding what it entails. or perhaps knights behave differently in their realm.

What do you do back home as a knight then?

[ashadowofhope]

a knight serves as ordered. my orders were often to support the frontlines should an engagement fail to conclude within expectations. i am uncertain as to what they expected.

What did they expect out of you?

i am not certain. what does one expect of a knight if not combat?

I suppose to protect their kingdom? And to fight for what they believe in?

[ashadowofhope]

i see. i suppose in some way that is. however what they oft believe in aligns with their kingdom and any deviating thought should be kept to oneself.

That is true...

You wouldn't want to risk getting other people upset. Is that why you and the other person didn't get along because of that idea?

they take more issue with how i take lives as though a knight must not.

[scooba]

I see.

...you don't have a choice. That is what a knight has to do in order to save a kingdom.

Sometimes, people have to do things they don't want to for the sake of protecting people.

And it's not an easy thing to do.

this is the life i have been raised in. such actions, perhaps, i do not find as difficult to the next individual.

Then that's admirable in a way.

I don't think I can do a job like that without remorse.

i believe it is better you can feel remorse. it means you can still feel for others.

...Do you have trouble with that?

Because I think I can see why there was an argument now.
