TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

...Well, Teyvat hasn't had kings in centuries, so maybe my knowledge is a bit outdated, but I'd always thought those were hereditary positions, not elected?

And why not? It can't be any more embarrassing than my own nickname.

It is and it is not. When the Holy Emperor passes without and heir, the Council of Cardinals elects another from worthy noble houses, belief dictating they are capable of embodying the will of the goddess Greagor.

As my father had sired the Dominant of Bahamut, he won unanimously. Upon his death, had he not abdicated the throne to my younger brother, I would have taken the mantle. If I had passed without an heir, the process would repeat. Forgive the complicated political environment of my homeland.

And just what is your nickname?

It's not that complicated, but it sounds rife for potential abuses. Then again, much could be said of any political system...

...Ah, fair's fair. It's the Light of the Kshahrewar.

Many in the clergy and in the leadership of Sanbreque are devout followers of Greagor, but, no. Not all, you're correct.

What is Kshahrewar?

Kshahrewar is one of the six darshans--I think they'd be called colleges in other nations--of the Akademiya, and the largest in terms of enrollment. Kshahrewar studies cover machinery, engineering, and architecture.

Over the last several centuries, though they had high enrollment numbers, they received very little in the way of funding and accolades. It was only through outside investments that most Kshahrewar research survived, despite it being vital for maintaining the literal infrastructure of Sumeru.

I...ah. I suppose my successes served as a source of inspiration to my juniors. I don't really remember if it started after the Port Ormos restoration or the Palace...I suppose it could have been the roadwork projects...but it's really terribly overblown. I was ultimately helpless to stop the corruption within Kshahrewar's leadership.

The Light, indeed. These coupled with your accomplishments improving the Roost, I believe your title more than earned.

Very well. Fair is fair.

I shan't sing, however:

Oh, come hear the tale of Lord Dion the Bold...
Who's tamed wyrms a-thousand, and slain that tenfold.
One hundred full legions the young dragoon led,
And watched as a million turned tail and fled.
His Lance levels mountains, it sunders the deep.
The skies over Storm brace for every leap.
And should the sun set on the Empire's shores,
His name will live on forever and more.

That truly is enough.

Nonsense. I am not the sole arbiter and symbol of hope for anyone. People have their own lights.

...Oh dear. And there were more of them, you said? You've been through a great deal.

Forgive me. I only mean it serves to reason they would see you as such. People are wont to have heroes wherever they may find them.

A sentiment which covers both our situations, I fear.
