TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE
There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.
A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.
Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Or I've had one easy job and everything else has been complicated.
To answer your earlier question: I find things. People, objects. Sometimes involves saving them, running into the "authorities," getting chased by demons or magisters. I take the cases for my city's most desperate because no one else will. The authorities won't help and can't be trusted. So I do what I can to make my neighborhood just a little safer.

Anti-climactic?
We all have jobs we breeze through and I feel like thats just a given. An objective and subjective truth all at the same time. If youre gonna say that youve never had a job that didnt get complicated Id wear that as a badge of honor. A testament to your skill. Why undercut yourself in the end, right?
So either the book is the lie or maybe the book club is the faulty bit.
Maybe there is no book club. Maybe the book club is a different group altogether.
Am I getting somewhere?

Suppose it may have been remiss of me to assume everyone knows places as dangerous as my home. The idea that anyone could have an easy time in Minrathous, even just once, would be met with surprise or get you scoffed at.
You say every job is complicated would be a testament to the skills of the detective. I say it's an exhausting way to live. [ it's also why she's so cynical. ] But that's Minrathous. Complication means destruction. Death. Missing people. Blood on the streets. Desperate people who just want closure they may never get. A simple request for a missing heirloom or other object leads to a relic case where I'm racing the cult of blood mages for the lives of those left.
Just one easy job would be a relief.
