SHIVER ME TINDERS

Something’s been glitching with everyone’s shellphones this month…! They suddenly fizzle and go black and when they reboot it appears there’s been some unwanted activity happening on them on your behalf.

A network post has appeared and with it, fake social media profiles have popped up too. You didn’t post to it, the shellphones have automatically done that for you. They’ve posted one picture, your age and three random facts about you. Whether or not those facts are true or not is … sketchy at best.

If you’re curious, go scrolling through the network post and see what it says about others! Comment around and ask them about their facts! And maybe make a new friend?

- Oocly, you will post your character to the network post with a picture, name and age and three random facts.
- The facts don't have to be true and can be entirely made up and be random or wild. Or they can be the realist facts about your character. It's up to you.
- Have your character react icly any way you want!
- Post and tag around!
- This is not necessarily a romance/date finding post, we just thought it was funny. Make friends and cr!

It's already happened once before. He couldn't decide which foot was better and ended up taking both.

I wonder if there actually is any true difference. Is a left food more powerful for some Nevrons?

Honestly, I think it was a matter of size sometimes. Or how he ripped it off.

That would make some degree of sense logically. At least the size theory. I suppose how it's ripped off could have something to do with how well preserved the power is. [ there's absolutely no sense in any of this Lune... ]

[musicien]

[Or like a dog comparing sticks. Or toys.]

Like I said has said when he showed off back at the Station, I've never understood how it works.

[But as long as his friend is happy.]

[ The most logical answer that would also be the most disappointing... ]

I wish I'd asked him more about it all.

[ The longest stretch of silence ever and when she does say something again there might be a tiny edge in her voice. This isn't lying, it's just going along with a sentiment because it's easier! ]

Maybe he will someday. There must be an endless supply of them.

[Verso quirks a brow, the pause speaking volumes despite the silence.]

Nearly a century's worth.

[Talking about the gestral, Verso feels a dull ache in his chest. While there had been long stretches of time when he and his friend hadn't spoken to one another, that didn't mean he didn't miss him.]

It's possible that he shows up here. Or maybe Maelle and Sciel.

[ Her head drops for a moment and then she nods as though everything were fine and dandy. ]

Mm, maybe. They would be better off here. [ At least from what she's seen so far.]

[musicien]

Warmed up to this place already?

[esquim]

No, but... [ her mouth opens and she almost says what's right there on the tip of her tongue. But for some reason it gets stuck there, perhaps just because she's not sure if she could stop if she started talking about why she'd want them here. Or maybe it's just selfish: she doesn't want to think about it completely. ]

Would you not want them here? You've seen more of the place. Is it worse than where we came from?

[ so sorry she is SO nosey and this is actually an open forum, soooo... ]

Hang on, do you two already know each other? Did you travel together?

[ she'll now feel dumb for having these kinds of conversations do publicly. Someone teach her about social media properly. ]

Yes, to both questions. Is it uncommon for people to come from the same place?

[ Unfortunately Jester isn't the one who can offer those types of services, but never fear, Lune! A bit of gossip never hurt anyone! ]

Well... maybe. I'm not so sure. I haven't seen any of the friends since I got here.

Verso is the only .... friend I've seen here. Though he's said another was here a while ago.

[ the sadness she has over missing that friend is huge ]

Perhaps your companions will arrive at some point?

[For someone who cut into their conversation so easily, he should be more conscious of how others could do the same.

Considering Lune's answered her first questions, he hops on for this instead.]

Like I was telling Lune, there is a possibility that someone you know arrives. The two of us only just found each other recently.

[musicien]

[Her question gives him pause. Verso has spent the better half of a year on his own in this world. He was used to being on his own for months, sometimes even years on end. But he couldn't deny that he didn't appreciate Maelle's company when she was around, even if it wasn't for very long.

And now with Lune around... There's no denying that there's been a shift in their dynamic. He felt it when they first met in the desert. But despite that and everything else that might've happened, he had grown attached to the people of Expedition 33, spending the most time with them and achieving more with them than with any other.

Even if some of it was for naught.

Eventually he shakes his head in response, one arm crossed over his chest as he holds up the shellphone with his other hand.]

It's isn't that. And I wouldn't say it's worse. It's safe enough for everyday life, with some danger still lurking nearby. They'd be able to handle themselves fine.

[esquim]

[ She moves one hand up to her mouth, resting a finger on her chin while she tries to study him in the shellphone. As always it's impressive how little he really gives away. But that was ever the problem, wasn't it? Besides, she can't say she's any different with her own expression remaining fairly neutral. The only indication that she's holding something back might come in just how long she lets things sit there in a silent stillness. ]

The question about it being worse was rhetorical. [ There is very little way for any place to be worse, at least from where she stood. ] We never thought it was possible for us to leave. But now...[ She opens her mouth, to say more, but stops before she says too much and gets too swept away by another hope. ] It's something to think on.

[He can't blame her for holding on to that little bit of hope, especially now that she knew about the Canvas and the fate of everyone who lived in it. The expeditions themselves were built on hope. That's why they ventured out there, wanting to do something, if not for themselves then for those who come after.

But for him, hope usually ended in disappointment.]

We'll see in due time. [His lips press together into a thin line.] No telling if it could even happen.

[ There's a flicker in her eyes, hope maybe, the churning of ideas and racing thoughts. It's there and gone in a blink, replaced with the memories of hope fully dying. Maybe it's unwise to risk it again but she also can't help but ignore that tiny spark.

She also can't help but blurt out a question she definitely shouldn't be asking this way. In a way it's probably cowardly of her to ask. ]

Have you wanted to stay here? Or do you want to return to your goals?

[ She makes a distinction by saying 'his' and not 'theirs'. ]

[His goals, she asks. Verso scoffs at that.

He's already tried that here, sometime after Maelle had left, finding a quiet place where he could be on his own. Even that ended in failure. The only saving grace from that experience was that he had learned more about how his body worked here, testing his healing's limits. And, while he's had multiple encounters with injury since, he knows none would ever be fatal for him.

That somehow, he will never be unpainted.

He hasn't fully given up on that just yet. But his mindset has shifted since.]

I wouldn't mind stating a while. If anything, it's at least a change of scenery.

[ She's not certain what to make of his answer. It feels like there's more to it than what he's saying, but maybe that's just her assuming there's always more behind his words. It's the 'a while' that she fixates on, turns over and over again in her head. She's seen his exhaustion, desperation, and where it's leading first hand. Enough for her to jump to her own theories, right or wrong. ]

Mm, a while.

[ 'We should talk' is on the tip of her tongue. The words get stuck and instead she turns the conversation to something else- something less painful and blistering. ]

I have a map, I believe it leads to my weapon and my jacket. My first big expedition here.

[He's thankful for the shift in topic. If it went on for longer, he would've made some other segue himself.]

A map? [He did wonder about her lack of both items when they first met.] Planning to go soon?

I'd like to, but if seems unwise to go to alone to an area I have no information on.
