SHIVER ME TINDERS

Something’s been glitching with everyone’s shellphones this month…! They suddenly fizzle and go black and when they reboot it appears there’s been some unwanted activity happening on them on your behalf.

A network post has appeared and with it, fake social media profiles have popped up too. You didn’t post to it, the shellphones have automatically done that for you. They’ve posted one picture, your age and three random facts about you. Whether or not those facts are true or not is … sketchy at best.

If you’re curious, go scrolling through the network post and see what it says about others! Comment around and ask them about their facts! And maybe make a new friend?

- Oocly, you will post your character to the network post with a picture, name and age and three random facts.
- The facts don't have to be true and can be entirely made up and be random or wild. Or they can be the realist facts about your character. It's up to you.
- Have your character react icly any way you want!
- Post and tag around!
- This is not necessarily a romance/date finding post, we just thought it was funny. Make friends and cr!

[Lune, how dare you bring music into this, his one weakness. He's going to leave it at that for now. Anything else might implicate him further. Or entice her to reach out even more.]

There was one other time, a few months back. But that one had been voluntary, a game called "two truths, one lie."

[ She knows the weakness to poke at now. At least as much as she's willing to. But she's got a whole plan now about reaching out. ]

Mm. What an... interesting game. [ deadpan stare. Biting her tongue. Luckily she's distracted by her curiosity. ]

This wasn't voluntary, which makes me wonder where the information came from. Who could know all these things? Even if some are vague or a stretching of the truth, it's still a lot to know about us all.

[Ah, too soon? Verso will hold his tongue on that in return.]

Well, as most of this is public, someone could be taking notes of what's been said, lurking from the shadows prior to everything being said. Or perhaps they're trying to rile us up, exposing even more about ourselves.

[ at least she's quick to forget when she finds a mystery! ]

What about the information belonging to people like me who just arrived? How could they have found it? And who would "they" be?

[ yes, she does real airquotes with her free hand. It's also probably obvious by the bumpy image that she's pacing . ]

[The way everything bounces, he can imagine what she was doing as if he was there. Not that he blames her for being irritated that things they might've held close to the chest were being put out on display.]

Mind you, this is all speculation on my part. Can't exactly read the mind of whoever is behind this.

No, we can't. But there clearly is someone behind it and I'd like to know more. I'm tired of people playing with my business. It causes messes.

[ of course there's always the option of everyone just being upfront and honest. Then there's no surprises to be revealed. But nobody is going to choose that. ]

[ she almost laughs, more of a scoff- short and sharp. For once she wasn't really meaning him. ]

Talking about after the gommage is definitely not something to be done here and now.

[ But then she hesitates for a moment, tiptoeing once again, before following up with: ]

[This time it's his turn to scoff, lips pressed together in a thin line. He casts his eyes elsewhere, away from the shellphone's camera.]

"Messes" takes the gravity of what happened lightly. [He shifts, burying half his face into his fist.] But you're right. I've been affected by all of it as well.

You're right, but do you really want to open the door to the gravity of it all?

[ She sighs and for a moment looks like she might ask the question there on the tip of her tongue, the dreaded 'why' question. If that was why he made his choices. No question comes though, she just presses her lips together. ]

[Verso misses the look, his attention directed anywhere but at Lune. But he scrunches his nose, and shakes his head, turning back to the shellphone.]

No, not yet. Especially not here.

[While this had been a fun experiment, he's learned to be a bit more wary of the network as a whole, especially when it came to more sensitive topics.

I didn't think so. [ So messy had been her choice of word. The fact that he's not looking at her only serves to make her look away now, not that he'll see. Really, it's a mess. ]

Regardless, I'd like to find out how this happened. Because it does clearly create messes. [ A pause as she keeps staring down. ] Or we're just two messes. [ Might be that one. Might be the vaguest attempt at a joke. ]

[A smile. Faint and small, but it's there.]

Might be worth your time asking the other riftfarers, maybe those who are more experienced with this kind of technology. Maybe even the locals if they've dealt with something similar in the past.

[He's willing to admit that this sort of thing might be out of his wheelhouse. The best he can do is aid her in unraveling this mystery Lune looks to be taking on.]

All decent ideas. It looks like I'll be pretty busy. [ She'll start making a list of people to ask. ]

Of course I already have someone I plan on talking to first. [ she's not forgotten. ]

[He's not going to even hide that he rolls his eyes at that.]

[Probably not happening, but it's worth saying. He hopes.]

[ That might get a tiny smile from her. Almost. ]

Mm, I will. I had already started to make a ranked list.

Who else have you got so far?

There's a woman that seems highly knowledgeable about this world and it's history. I've also spoken to a man that might be promising to discuss information on the magic of this world. Another man I met claims he's experienced with the subtleties of information gathering, he's offered to lend me his skills. And of course your friend, hopefully I can learn more from her.

No surprise that you have a working list already.

Might be worth asking about the gauntlet from the desert as well. Unless you've already done that, of course.

Would it be surprising to know I also have them listed in the priority I want to talk to them?

But yes, I do intend to ask about it. I'm also certain I've figured out how to take images with this, so I'll send you a few. You can ask your own allies as well. You must have quite a few that know things about this place.
