Subject: A Survey on Romantic Relationships
Warnings: Potential discussions about sex? I guess?? But mostly this is just Alhaitham being the most obliviously shameless man alive.
This is Alhaitham.
I have a survey that I would like people to fill. There are no restrictions or stipulations to the nature of the responder. The only request is for you to be honest when filling it up.
1) Are you currently in a romantic relationship or have been in one? (yes/no)
2) If yes, does your current or previous relationship involve sex? (yes/no)
3) List down 5 to 10 words that describe what your significant other (past or present) makes you feel.
4) What is your main priority when you are with your significant other (past or present)?
5) How do you measure or recognize your feelings as love? What separates them infatuation or sexual attraction? Describe in 100 words or less.
You are free to leave your answers in this post or direct them to my inbox. I will be following up on whatever answers I feel are necessary.
Thank you for your time.

Here, he thought Lyney and Heizou's kind of somewhat not really relationship was already weird. Now, he can't help but be curious but he'll just leave it be.]

Thank you for your answers.
Not having first hand experiences are fine. But I would like to ask if you have any ideals in regards to questions three to five. You are free to not answer if you do not wish to.

What is this survey for, exactly? Why are you interested in people's love's lives?
[ And yet... ]
1) No, never in 1,000 years, maybe never will
2) I'm not interested in it
3) I'm just going to answer this in terms of friendships. Happy, warm, loved, betrayed, lonely, scared
4) Same as above applies. I want my friends to like me, without hiding who I am. In return, I do the same, and help them with whatever they need.
5) Haven't really experienced much or any of these things, especially not romantic love. I guess, loving someone means that being without them hurts. It means stopping someone from doing something stupid that will get them or other people hurt. It means being accepted for who I am, and never being asked to change or "be normal". It's knowing you never have to be alone again, even if they aren't right next to you all the time, because you know they'll come if you just call. It's knowing that they'll have your back, even if you just had a fight. Someone you can be vulnerable with, because you know they aren't going to let you get hurt.
I don't know if that's a hundred words or less, I'm not going to count them.

And thank you for your answers. They are insightful.

1) Not a romantic relationship, but a physical one
2) Yes
3) - Pleasure
- Satisfaction
- Contentment
- Curiosity
- Security
4) I'm afraid that given the circumstances of our "relationship", the only proper answer here would be that of a physical nature.
5) It is said that love and attraction feel different from person to person, and each person's experience will be marked by circumstances unique to their own relationship. That being said, I've heard it likened to that of a lightning bolt that strikes suddenly and without warning, but echoes through your whole body and thrums through your blood. It makes your heart pound and your mind race. It illuminates the world around you, as if all was in darkness before, and all at once you can't fathom how life could ever be the same without that other person in your life.
[Enjoy that response, Alhaitham. It may be the most honest Lyney's been to the Scribe thus far.]

Still, it doesn't matter to him even if it is Lyney on the other end. It won't change anything about any of this.]

i have several concerns about your methodology.
3. stressed, aggravated, infuriated, frustrated, VEXED.
home. he feels like home.
4. it's important that we're content with the results of what we're doing, if not always with the process. being challenged is an important part of growth we both believe in, but the end result should be satisfying for him for it to be worth the struggle.
5. i've known for a very long time, so it's a little hard to pinpoint the exact difference. It came easily, and naturally, so at the time I didn't realize it at first.
It's not as though I can't live without him. I can. I have. But the world is duller, without him in it. My joys are brighter and my sorrows less sharp. Loneliness no longer stalks along my heels, even when I have to be apart. Words cannot capture it. The pursuit of all art is to express feelings such as these, that cannot be neatly captured with language.
We are not incomplete pieces of each other--we are and remain whole beings when we are separate. But two whole parts can create a sum greater than either, and a more complete picture of the world. Mine is more full, when he is part of it, and much darker in his absence.
next time make the survey anonymous from the start.
