I heard some pretty good jokes the other day [ DID YOU, VASH? ] so I wanted to share them.

[ He clears his throat with a laugh, his head tilting slightly. ]

What would bears be without bees?

[ There's a pause as he leans in to the camera to whisper: ]

Ears.

[ He does his absolute level best (not really) not to laugh, which is unsuccessful. Once he calms down he grins in a way that makes his nose wrinkle ]

One more!

The other day a guy hit me with a bottle of milk!

[ Another Pause... ]

How dairy?!

[ He needs to be stopped. ]

An excellent guess!
But not quite: it was a key.
One lends itself to a more, ah, phallic shape than the other depending on interpretation - and thus the wordplay.

But the thought that somewhere out there exists a language where 'key' and 'dick' use the same word/character is a little funny, and he snorts lightly at that.]

Do you have any other examples?

Not nearly so many as I'd like!
The majority were often more personal caricatures - commentary upon this leader or that.
There was a King of the region once upon a time who was rather disliked, and the characters chosen for his name would be arranged into the shape of a rat, and over time, the word for 'rat' came to be that very ruler's name.
And so on, and so forth.

I had just come into possession of a quite rare dictionary of High Hornburgian and was rather looking forward to translation in my spare time, but then I found myself here.
Adventures and mysteries occasionally set aside the best plans of mice and men, but I'd hardly complain.

[Associations are certainly a common thing, so that much Alhaitham is not surprised by—but it is always interesting to see the way it evolves over time, much like how Deshret is known as the Scarlet King. The evolution of language remains as always, a most fascinating thing.]
