A curious question to my fellow riftfarers — to those who are capable of "summoning" or calling upon powerful beings or even people, how does it work in your world? Any particular requirements? Contracts?

And have you any luck doing so while here? Any changes you've discovered?

[This is a general broadcast type post, so anyone can threadhop if they'd like to swap stories or anything! Cid will be reading everything...with very keen interest.]

In case you're wondering what this is about, while on that ghost ship a girl somehow managed to summon me from a rock she had—materia she called it. She also knew about Ramuh and some of the other Eikons from our world.

Given there was no warning and that she might not be the only one, thought I should give everyone a heads up. For now I'll be trying some tests with her to see how it works and will share the results.

I was just summoning up Ramuh as usual, and this comes drops out of the sky out of nowhere! Apparently, he's Ramuh in another world or something.

His username is ramuhs. So of course he's somehow tied to Ramuh.

Makes having summoning materia inconvenient.

I'd rather not talk about our little experience out in public if you don't mind.

[Staring at this other fellow. Thanks. WELL HE CAN MITIGATE SOME OF IT or try to, siiiiighhhh. If only he had known her ID from the start he could have prevented this but it is what it is.]

You shoulda said something earlier, old man! Besides, you might be popping up on other people if I lend this out for a very good reason.

Well, that guy [id: makoglow] can use materia. And probably the other spiky-headed guy. Then Tifa, maybe that Aerith lady. I only just met most of them!

Bit hard without knowing your ID and not wanting to put your name on blast, but I suppose I could have worded something in there.

[Well whatever, water spilled and all that.]

And you only know the name of two?

[...Yuffie, please, you're supposed to be his informant?? Well—]

But I'm assuming they're from the same world as yours.

If you had used the word "materia" I would have been all over it.

[ Now here are all these people asking about it. ]

We were busy at the time. I didn't want to lose my head. Okay, the other spiky-head is named Zack.

[ She doesn't even know much about Red, yet. ]

Probably! I've definitely met Zack before, and saw Tifa from a distance in my world. So far, they're the only ones I've seen that are using materia.

[Well as long as the focus isn't completely on him—but oh well.]

[ she is aggressively in the video frame, tapping where the camera is in a way that makes the video go pink when she does so. ]

[He leaned a little away from the screen at the tapping because the visual effect was a little disorientating, but otherwise looked unphased by the hostility. Especially when coming from a child. Well... was she a child? She claimed a filial relationship to the servant and certainly acted childish. But mortal aging confused him.]

How old of a child are you?

[...He really shouldn't engage and he honestly left him alone a bit and watched Mid's exchange instead with some gratitude and amusement. Get him, daughter!!]

More of a forceful pull that neither of us knew what was happening. Bit of a surprise for the both of us.

He's not my servant, and he was already in this world. Let's just leave it at that, okay?

[Oh. It was that girl. The child. His expression softened. Just a little. Just a tiny bit.

Unfortunate that she had not been able to bring the other to this world. He would have liked to know how to repeat any such feats had she done so.]

He is not your servant, but you were able to force him to obey... did you curse him?

[He sounded curious, but otherwise there was no change to the flatness of his voice.]

[ Her cheeks puff up, and she points at Dongfang through the video. ]

I didn't really force anything. He decided to fight on his own after a mix-up, that's all.

[ Yuffie might be wanting to recruit people, but she's not forcing anyone. ]

I did summon him. It was totally by accident, though!

Well, summoning and getting HIM was an accident!

Apparently! There are few others with materia, and they all seem to be from my world. Not a different one.
