I've heard it customary to lay plans for the future upon the new year. Saying your goals out loud has always helped me to achieve them, so I'm curious to know what goals you have planned for yourself. Be they large or small.

I've nothing grandiose for myself— only to be a better person. A person worthy of friendship, and to continue to help those around me.

[ And after a small pause: ]

—Maybe open a petting zoo, at this rate.

(No need to give them another way to disappoint themself.)

Be less stupid, I guess.

(Except by this they mean "stop growing attached to people and making friends" not "stop destroying their life and lashing out at everyone"... so it's probably good they won't make much effort to follow through.)

I guess mine would be about the same as yours. Plus, I want to learn more about this place and figure out how to get some of my stuff back. I want to be able to help make and repair stuff for people with Tadashi. Together. Make the most of this extra time with him.

If you're looking to retrieve your things, assisting in the MANTA board often rewards you with the means to do that. It takes some time, but it can be done.

Big plans for a man who has already surpassed his goal, even if he doesn't realize it.

[Goodness, how many times will she have to tell him that he's the greatest person she knows? Fine. She'll say it again and again, as much as she has to, until he believes it.]

You may have to consider the inevitable space issues. You can only fit but so many chocobos in one coop.

There's still much work to be done.

... Starting with a possible larger stable. I never was handy at woodwork. This is testing a lot of limits.

I had not heard the name until I arrived here, but a "petting zoo" is just that. A place to pet animals. I've suddenly come into possession of quite a few, and lacking the room to house them all.

Free time? That's a fine goal. Hard to have much of it with so much to do, though.

I'm saying I have a long way to go until I feel as though I've earned the friendships I've made— yours included.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to improve yourself. I think it's noble, even if it's not something big and groundbreaking.

You're interested in working with animals?

[ Soft smiles when he hears that voice!! Torgal is the best boy, but Nanaki? Very close second. ]

Thank you. I'm determined to become a better person, no matter how long it takes.

[ But oh? That's right, he did do something with animals here, didn't he? ]

I never thought myself much of a caretaker, but recently acquired more animals than I ever imagined. Not that I'm opposed to it.

I have a goal. My goal is to not turn into a large shadow dragon again, no matter what happens. Even if the worst things happen to me.

[ That sounds a little ominous. ]

Maybe the animals don't want to be pet all day long by strangers.

No, I suppose you're right. [ A pause. ] ... Though Torgal might object to that.

[Goals though? Could it be as easy as that? He doesn't even know what to do with himself on a regular day, it's tough to imagine he can figure out what to do for an entire year.]

For me it was taking something I had difficulty the previous year, and working towards bettering myself. But it doesn't have to be anything larger than that. Maybe even as small of a goal as "waking up earlier".

In truth... I had not given it much thought. For the moment, I wish to finish the work I started on several of those murals found in the ruins. Perhaps this year I'll come to understand them.

You seem to always have your hand in something. [ even if it means getting into trouble!! ] But I believe that to be a fine goal.

Are you lacking in resources? Something I need to keep an eye out for?

[Azul has to resist every urge in his being to say that his goal in this place is to get the hell out of here and return home rather than continuing to stay here any longer. Instead, he finds it in him to say--]

Well, if I were to share any new years revolutions, as I've heard them being called in this place... I suppose my goal for this year would be to finish opening my business, and work on having a successful financial output to be proud of here.

Opening a business? Quite the feat. I'll be sure to support when it is at its completion.

But I'll admit I haven't thought much of financials here. I still find myself feeling this place to be a dream.

I've never really thought about any goals for myself like that, but I guess a good one would be able make some new friends?

Having more friends is a wonderful goal to have. Perhaps you can call upon them should you ever find yourself in more troubling predicaments..

I don't fully intend to open one exactly... I've just recently found myself with more animals than I know what to do with.

And a petting zoo you say? My daughter would relish the opportunity to visit such an avenue though I am thankful she has not been trapped in such a hostile environment for a young girl.

He won't care to admit it, but I've witnessed a pout from time to time. Although I believe he enjoys the new companions.

Believe me— this is not a path I've chosen for myself. But perhaps the title of farmer will soon suit me better than outlaw.

More like chocobo farmer. I've found myself spending tending to their needs more as of late. Perhaps I should get out more.
