Hello. I am Alhaitham, scholar and Scribe of the Akademiya. I have been informed by my gracious and kind senior that this network is an excellent communication tool.

It has been brought to my attention that I am severely lacking in social interactions, and that it may be detrimental to my health to stay inside and read all day.

Despite the many flaws in my personality, I am very knowledgeable in a wide range of topics, and am a thorough partner in any academic debate. While my way of speaking is quite strangely awkward and disjointed for a man who studies words for a living, my only criteria for judgement is that you are doing your best for your educational background.

Kaveh will be hosting a small party to celebrate the acquisition of a new home. I look forward to exploring the joys of friendship there with you. If you have any further questions, please forward them to me or to my kind senior, Kaveh.

I was mostly wondering about the salt water, but I suppose if these people have lived on the back of a migratory turtle this long, the salt would be the least of their concerns.

But I have to admit, I'm not even sure where to begin.

I have ideas but they're a little overwhelming to organize...I don't think I'd know how to start. But there's no problem taking time to really assess what can be done, either.

most of the magitech I've seen used here seems to end up as weaponry. I've honestly been wondering if looking into medical and assistive technology wouldn't be better, but I'm not a doctor myself, so I'd have to find one...

I'm not one either as I usually make clockwork penguins or fix whatever things break down back home.

I wanted to let people know that it's okay to be childish sometimes. There's nothing wrong with believing in fairy tales if it makes your dreams come true.

If the world is already cruel enough as it is, why not just believe in something like that?

there was a bird who built a palace, as a monument to the heavens themselves.

he spun the foundation out of his own dreams, and the marble from his heart, and shaped the glass windows with the fire of his own passion. But when that wasn't enough, he took apart all the pieces of his nest, and used those too.

When the palace was finished, it shone bright as the sun, but that little bird had nothing left to call his own. Even so, when he heard how people smiled and laughed, and how joy nested in the hearts of those who saw it, he was still glad.

A nest can be rebuilt, and the palace would last the lifetimes of a hundred thousand little birds, making just as many smiles.
